We have rented this home a couple times now and already booked it for next year! Everything works for our two families to stay comfortably! Only thing I suggest is a pantry to put our food in as the one is now locked up and unusable had to store food and condiments on table.also suggest maybe a bigger trash area or a multi pickup if guests staying a week. Beautiful home to float the river and get back out at your cabin.

What a great place for our family; plenty of comfortable space, beautiful views of river from screened in porch, the steps down to the river was nice (floated the river 2 days in a row) went to Sandy Bottom Recreation site and put in our own tubes and started the 2 hours float back to the house was a definite do again type thing! One issue and it was quickly taken care of by our host, so not worthy of the complaint on here!

This was our fourth stay there. We go every 2 years so as not to burn out the family if we went every year. The kitchen upgrade was nice - esp. the new fridge - we had 25 lbs of frozen shrimp which fit into the freezer very well. I thought we would have to get some dry ice to keep some of the shrimp frozen. You locked up the pantry in the kitchen tho - that was nice to have for storing food items that everyone brought. Just had to keep them in boxes on the floor. Also, you did away with the small hutch that was located at the end of the kitchen cabinets - that was nice to keep snacks and some storage underneath. One of the best features of the house is the screened in porch - it's great to have coffee or just sit outside and listen to the sound of the river - without bugs. It's also large enough to have cornhole competition. The rec room is really nice too - with the pool table. Overall it was a great vacation that everyone enjoyed. I would

Beautiful location. Cabin is amazing and comes with everything you can possibly need. Very relaxing and quiet. The river right in front of the home is breathtaking. Shopping and entertainment also close by. We definitely recommend!

Enjoyed God's handiwork by the river and on the trail to the swinging bridge. We drove up the river and tubed back to the house many times. Saw deer and fireflies (only in June perhaps). We brought our favorite games & played everyday, as well as billiards, hot dogs & S'mores over the fire pit and enjoying the hot tub. Lots of stairs but lovely well-equipped cabin and comfy beds. Would love to return.

It’s so relaxing just listening to the river! This house has everything! We enjoyed the tubing, fire pit, grill! If there would be anything I would change it would be the oven! It cooks about 15 degrees lower the what it states. But that’s literally it! Beautiful stay and wonderful family time!

this is the perfect GET AWAY spot. Other than the pet hair on guest the bed this place was clean. Perfect place to just get away from the daily grind. The river in the front is so soothing and relaxing.

This is a fantastic hidden gem in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is very spacious for 3 families (6 adults, 4 kids).You can sleep more people (sleeper sofas etc.) Accessibility to the river is amazing. We had our morning tea right at the river. The front porch is where we spent most of our time . The cabin is well maintained with all amenities. The wifi was working great. One thing that needs attention is the spider webs on all the windows (front porch and kitchen especially). But overall a great place and would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

We spent two nights at the Riverwatch Retreat with two small children. The home is very nice, roomy, comfortable and the location and setting are spectacular. Kitchen is well appointed. I rated 4 out of 5 only because it wasn't as clean as I would expect for a home of this caliber. Many of the linens were old or worn, and the hot tub and screened-in-porch areas were not well maintained. A simple cleaning, especially of the floors, is an easy fix and would make a huge difference. Otherwise our stay was really enjoyable, great to disconnect, and would recommend.

We appreciate the guests feedback. This cabin has been part of our linen program for a few months, the Local Manager will inspect them to make sure that they are switched out and new. The porches and floors have been addressed by the Housekeeping Manager and will be cleaned.

Wow! The river watch retreat was just the place we had hoped for! From great views and sounds from the flowing river each and every day, the tubing right up to the house, to group dinners on the screened in porch...Could not have asked for a more comfortable, welcoming place and neighborhood for an outdoorsy vacation! My husband and I stayed at the cabin with two other couples. We were all impressed how roomy the cabin was. the master room was charming and nicely decorated wth the moose theme. We all took turns cooking, the kitchen had all the items we needed to make home made meals. The dining room table was very inviting and rustic. The porch was the perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee. Had nice conversations by the river and in front of fire pit. Hot tub was the perfect place to end our exhausting day. We all enjoyed our stay very much, starting to plan our next year's trip. You can't go wrong with this place, it has everything you need and more. Absolutely recommend it!

We loved the riverwatch cabin that we stayed in!! It was very spacious, clean, & we loved the warm fun decor. There were lots of beds & the screened in porch was amazing!! we went for hikes, tubing down the river lots of times, fished, caught lightning bugs & frogs, roasted hot dogs & made s'mores by the fire pit... the list goes on. We stayed outside enjoying nature most of the time, even when it rained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definitely be back!! The only complaints that we had were the ants inside(to be expected in the mountains I know) & the hot tub. The hot tub water smelled horrible & was super murky & green. I contacted the front office & the lady was very helpful & instructed us on what to do. We put more shock in as instructed at 2 different times but it did not help. We made sure to wash off really good with the hose before getting in each time too but it didn't make a difference. The kids still enjoyed though. Thanks!!

Perfect place for my husband and me and our 2 sons, their wives, 3 teenage grandchildren and one of their friends. Plenty of beds and bathroom space. It would have been nice if there was a place on the upper porch for a hammock. We floated the river, fished and sat around the camp fire while our grandson played the guitar. Enjoyed our time at the cabin.

I loved our stay at Riverwatch Retreat! Tom and everyone was very friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here again! Amazing view of the river and very tranquil sitting on the waters edge. The cabin was very spacious, room for everyone. I loved the different seating areas of up and downstairs. Loved the stone showers and the beds were comfortable! The cabin was well stocked with towels and kitchen had everything we needed.
