Very hot temps every day, which is normal for SC in August. The home's AC was fantastic at keeping up. Loved that. Kitchen is well done and fully equipped. Beds comfortable. Great location especially when it's hot. Lots of shade. LOTS of deer. Quiet even with the peak season crowds. House was very clean on arrival. Would recommend and would stay here again.

This was our 3rd time in this cottage. Location is good, easy access to everything. Everything is in good working order. Well stocked kitchen. Loved the new chairs. The wildlife is great. Deer, baby deer, lots of turtles and a few gators in the pond. Watched one eat a turtle! Get relaxing vacation.

The home has a great floor plan and was nicely furnished and comfortable. The home is also in a quiet gated community and was close to the beach. It does need some maintenance/cleaning as the following issues were noticed. There were significant pet stains on the carpet in both downstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom having the worst of the stains. The towel racks in both bathrooms were removed and not replaced. Parts of the towel rack was left out on the top of the hamper in the master bathroom. The toilet in the master bathroom ran off and on and had to be plunged a few times. The jacuzzi jets do not work in the tub. I did inform the ladies at the Vacasa office of the issues that need attention. I was told they were going to let maintenance know.

The landscape in this development was beautiful. The condo was comfortably furnished with a well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the deck and screened-in porch. The wildlife was in abundance and the ease of bike rentals was great. We definitely recommend this home.

We had a wonderful time spending our week at Turtle Pond. The home is beautiful and has all that you will need. My family enjoyed spending the evenings on the porch feeding the turtles their "dinner." The walk through the resort was relaxing and it was easy to access the beach. Only a short two minute drive to a beach access area to park.
Definitely hope to visit again.

We’ve stayed here before and it’s always well maintained, clean, comfortable with everything you need. The pond out back is full of turtles and an alligator. Deer come up everyday. Short drive to the beach. No complaints.

Turtle Pond definitely lives up to it’s name with lots of enjoyment watching them from the back porch. That would have been enough,but there were lots of other types of wildlife right out the back door, including an alligator. The house is well maintained and homey.

The cottage is wonderful. Great location, fully equipped and comfortable. During our stay, the internet, tv and wi-fi was out about 3 days out of 7. This was a huge inconvenience. Also the kitchen disposal does not work and was actually unplugged.This was no issue as we did not cook while there but the internet, wi fi was a big minus. Turtle Pond is a very comfortable, perfectly located unit. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We were able to walk out the back gate and take the bike path to Beach access 34 to walk the dog. We had a pair of wood ducks in the pond most of our stay and a heron who came and went. This was a perfect stay for our family. It was in a central location to almost everything in Edisto. We had 2 children under 2 and they loved seeing and feeding the turtles in the pond behind the house and the deer walking by throughout the day. We had a wonderful time in Edisto at Turtle Pond Cottage. It was clean and had plenty of space. The glass sliding door in the family room was a little difficult to open so we used the one in the bedroom to get onto the deck. Overall, we had a fantastic time! This was our first stay at Turtle Pond and our first stay on this side of the Wyndham Ocean Ridge. Great location, quiet but accessible and very comfortable. Home was spotless and spacious, great bedrooms and kitchen. Very close to amenities as well. Upon entering we only had to kill three of the six roaches as two were already dead and one got away. Carpets and downstairs fans need to be replaced. Refrigerator runs loud and jets in tub do not work. We did without AC the first day and night as it needed repairs which happened on our 5th day of stay. We will not stay here again. Turtle Pond was the perfect rental for a great experience at Edisto. It was immaculate, the layout was great with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a third bedroom upstairs, and the kitchen was the center of activity. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the turtles in the lagoon. Easy walk to the pools and short drive to the beach!! Atwood Vacations was very easy to work with and I especially appreciated the simplicity of the rules/ regulation and process. Our property was dog friendly without breed or size restrictions,and was well laid out to accommodate guests.
The interior of the cottage was clean and furnished with everything we needed. My only complaint was that both of the porches were very dirty which led us to believe that no one has stayed their for months. It took us hours to clean but once we did, we enjoyed coffee and cocktails daily in both spaces. Some updating and cleaning to those areas is needed. It`s a nice little house with good amenities. It needs a really good cleaning, though. We have stayed here quite a few times but it`s just not getting cleaned very well. We have stayed here many times but this time the house was a little messy. There were marks on the doors and walls where someone had dragged their hand covered in pudding or mud. The floor was dirty, the furniture was dirty, so much so, we wouldn`t sit on it without a towel. The bathtub in the master bedroom drained very slowly after taking a shower. Our family loved Turtle Pond. It`s an updated house with all of the amenities with the added bonus of being able to step on the deck and see dozens of turtles in the pond net to you. We enjoyed our time here immensely. We would definitely stay here again. Edisto is a wonderful vacation site, and Turtle Pond is a great place to see it all and a quick bike ride from all of the action. Our only issue was that there was a large fee in order to use the resort pool that we didn`t feel was adequately disclosed. Our stay was great and we were completely satisfied. The only complaint would be the unit could have been a little more clean. Housekeeping did not do an extremely great job at sweeping the floors or cleaning the counters. One thing that you need to know is that the refrigerator is sub-par. The freezer especially did not keep ice cream cold, which would not be a problem if we had eaten it right away, but after three days you could slurp it through a straw. Thanks to Atwood for delivering a broom which was not on site. A recycle bin (with instructions) would be helpful for those of us who actually recycle while on vacation. My family and I have traveled a lot and what a surprise this lovely home was. Clean, furniture was great, marble tops and stainless appliances. Loved the front screened in porch and the location of the house put us close to everything.

We enjoyed our stay and had plenty of room to relax and cook in the well equipped kitchen. Some dishwasher soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, and a few other basic supplies would have been very appreciated. The whole family enjoyed the cottage, including 3 adults and 3 children. We hung up an Enu hammock between the trees and got to enjoy the pond. The grill was easy to use,and the kitchen was unbelievably stocked with all types of utensils, silverware, cups, glasses, plates and pots and pans. There were enough extra blankets for everyone. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We even saw a deer in a neighbor`s yard one morning. The drive to the beach was short, and we especially enjoyed the family (non-commercial) atmosphere of Edisto Island. The beach sites were plentiful and parking was free.
